Gutierrez hus band, father and son, passed away Friday, August 15 after a valiant battle with cancer. Craig was born Drex 3. 1951 to Jay Davis and Laura A. (Davis) Love in Ashton, Idaho, where he spent most of his childhood years. He graduated from North Fremont High school, in Ashton, in 1969 and contin ved his education at Brigham Young University. Shortly after serving an honorable mission to Peru, Craig married the love of his life, Sherrill Winder, on Aug 9 1975 in the LDS Idaho Falls, ID temple. Upon graduation fromthe Iili- nois College of Optometry he and his family moved several calling Utah home times. finally He remained active in the LDS church and fulfilled a variety of callings throughout his life. Most recently Craig served as first counselor in the Glenmoor sixth ward of the Glen moor, South Jordan, Utah stake. An avid fan of BYU football and basketball, he never let a season's poss go to waste. If the mountains had snow if was usually safe to assume Craig was ready to strap on his skis ond during the summer months he was typically preparing for the ski season. ut above all else, Craig cherished the time he spent with fis family. Whether it was during a family trip to Ashton or a conversation at the din ner table, he wanted to be sure each person knew how much he loved them. He showed his love with hard work, kind words and as a humble example every day of his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Drex Jay Davis, sister Rula Michele Davis and grandparents James Lewis Allison and Sarah C. Al lison. Craig is survived by his wife, Sher rill Davis; children, Casey Davis, Jaime and Brett Bryson, Parker and Camery Davis, Taylor Davis and Whitley Davis; grandchildren, Siaosi Sekonao and Danielle Bryson; his mother Laura A. Kay Hampton Kofford, 64, of High- land, Utah passed away August 13. 2003 after an extended illness. 1938 in Abraham, Utah to Armon M. "Dude" and Ovena Grace Jensen Hampton She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended schools in American Fork, and while still in High School, she met the love of her life and her soul mate of 47 years, Jerry Ned Kofford. They She was born June 28, 1930, daughter of Melvin and Mildred Pratt. She was married and sealed to her eternal companion, Harold Westergard on April 21, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He passed away on October 11, 1989. On Janvary 31, 1998 she married her eternal friend, Rowe "Rick" Sal- way in the Ogden LDS Temple. He passed away Aug. 11, 2003. Marjorie was an accomplished musician. She was a faithful member of the Farr West 6th LDS Ward, serving as the ward organist. She served in the Stake and ward Young Women's proram, as a Visiting Teacher, Family Relations instructor, and Relief Society Instructor. She has unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. She spent many hours working and serving in the Ogden Temple, where she met her current husband, Rick. She is survived by her two sisters, Beverly Watkins, and Gloria Rippon, her children, Chris J. (Susan) Westergard, Cothy (Larry) Brand, Linda and helped provide protection for the President in an attempted assassino- tion in California. In Washington in 1981, he helped secure eorge Washington University Hospital when President Ronald Reagan was taken there after an attempt on his life. In addition to Washington and San Francisco, Mr. Miskinis was posted in New York and Reno, NV, where he was agent-in-charge, during his Secret Service career. E He received a master s degree in criminal justice/forensic investigations from the George Washington Univer- sity. In 1987, he moved from the Washington area to Brockton, MA and taught criminal justice at colleges in that area. He moved to Sandy, UT in 1993 to teach at the Salt Lake Community College, Department of Criminal Justice. As program coordinator, Mr. Mi- skinis was instrumental in expanding the criminal justice program by establishing on-site education centers at police stations and other community sites throughout the Salt Lake valley. He also worked with other stote col- leges to form a statewide distance education criminal justice consortium. He developed an interesting array of special topic courses such as assassinations, terrorism, serial killers and school violence. He was successful in applying for state grants to expand the criminal justice program s internet education program. Mr. Miskinis recruited many experienced federal and state law enforcement agents fo add to the depth of the program s faculty. He was recently appointed an Associate Professor.
