A LookBackat the Yearin Arts AbravanelHall turned 20, the new Hale Center Theater celebrated its first anniversary and,in between, Utah arts organizations saw changes, suffered growing pains and looked ahead to new homes(such as the U.’s GardnerHall), newchallenges (like preparing for an Olympic-size cultural celebration) and a newcentury ofentertaining and enlightening the people of Utah. There was no “censored” Rodin in 1999, no passing ofthe baton at the symphony,but the year did have comings and goings andintriguing showings enough to satisfy art patrons of high brow, low brow andthat wide middle aye45 Andrew Noble and Lynne Listing rehearse for RDT's “Glacier,” at top, and 250 members of the Children’s Dance Theater take a bow at the Capitol Theater celebration of CDT's 50th anniversary.
