| Show DOES IT PAY there is a little scripture found in isaiah first chapter and eighteenth verse which says come now and let us reason together what a world of trouble a compliance with that little sentiment would w remote for fear our worthy brothers the respective spec tive editors of the garland globe and the tremont times may have never read or heard of the above passage and therefore do not realize its import we respectfully recommend that they peruse the chapter and become cognizant with its teachings its good gospel good for tile the newspaper man as N veil ell as all other sinners on our r point in asking the question which forms the caption ot of this article is simply this does it pay tor for two newspapers which operate in practically the same sphere and whose aim it is to build up the section or county in which they are located to become sectional in their feelings and maign laign each other and the city in general in which the other paper is located or to 10 malign each other if located in the th saine same city in the last two or three issues of the respective named there have appeared some pretty strong adi editorials I 1 in which the respective editors give each other the very dickens and I 1 make some rather pointed statements as to the importance of the city in which the other fellow I 1 is located now what our good friends hope to gain by such a course is beyond us but we are constrained to believe that they are making a mistake and are doing themselves a great injury besides bringing their respective cities into more or less disrepute tor for a reader of one or the other paper alone would get the impression that tile other town was a most undesirable place to live and the people regular moss backs it is a fact that no man no community no business no proposition of any kind gets too much advertising of the right kind now we ve are willing to 10 wager that Drothel broth er sCip Capwell we hand H and have nothing in their hearts but the best besnot of p rhonal feelings toward each other what makes it so hard to understand der stand any they want to be ever last angly lambasting lam basting each other they are both whole boosters boasters bo for their respective home towns and the county in general but seeni seem to take a delight in going after each other occasionally casio nally whether their is any justification fi or not read the scriptures brethren get together and reason then ask yourselves it if digging each other pays |
