Show Answer to S. G. Leigh, Cedar, Utah. In regard to the horse you speak of I would advise cleaning the foot thoroughly, giving it a lath in a pail U warm anticeptic solution. This may be a five per cent crcolin or carbolic car-bolic or bichloride of murcury solution. solu-tion. Soak the foot once a day in such a solution as warm) as the hands can stMnd it. Dry the part thoroughly thorough-ly and apply cotton with a bandage. This will undoubtedly briiig the condition con-dition to a head and allow the corruption cor-ruption to discharge. A linseed meal poultice with some anticeptic added would also be good. If there arc any soft spots appearing flftcr the above application they should be opened and thoroughly syringed out with an anticeptic wash. If this does not overcome ov-ercome the condition I would advise applying a blister to the cornet. The foot should be thoroughly examined to ascertain if and toreign body has worked into it. If this is the case it will have to be removed before recovery re-covery will take place. The animal should not work during this treatment. |
