Show DEATH OF JOSEPH HALLIDAY Moscow Lamar mar CoA Co L Ala June 17 1885 i Editor Deseret News With sorrow I f announce the demise of Brother Joseph Jseph Halliday which took place April 21 1885 Deceased was b born barn rn July 8 1816 in South Carolina His father removed to this State when he was two we years of age About 1845 the Elders Eiders first ap- ap appeared appeared I ap-I in this part Uncle Joseph as he was u i called by all who knew him was a friend tc them from fr m the first In 1868 the Elders again came to this tois part and ever found a home and resting place under his roof In 1870 uno part of his bis family havin having loaned Joined the Church he emigrated to Utah and settled in Santaquin Utah Co In 1871 his family being desirous of seeing them their relatives he returned to this State State A few years year after the Elders again came to this part since which tIme time he with others of his family who emigrated to Utah and re- re returned returned re returned turned has united with the Church and a branch of about thirty members has bal been organized He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of day Latter day Saints by Elder A Cazier in Bogue Creek Creels Lamar Co Alabama March 24 Brother Halliday was a kind add and affectionate af affectionate af- af affectionate husband and father His generosity was proverbial and he was especially beloved by hy by the poorer classes and respected by all who knew him He leaves a wife and numerous rela relatives rela- rela relatives relatives tives and friends to mourn his loss Your brother in the Gospel J WB |
