up it was learned that a witness wanted by the probe prosecution cution was no present and the case was therefore continued until a later date in the term the petit jury were excused until after the county jails in good order and condition except in the case se 0 of f outer cells in in the bali basement ement of the county courthouse the opan openings ings for the windows ot of which are covered facility iii in the prosecution of our investigations I 1 the sanitary condition of the block bounded by fourth fifth young and rain main streets is deplorable the interior thereof being the receptacle for all kinds of garb uge age and offal cr creating enting during the heated noxious odford predisposing disposing pre t to 0 epidemics 0 we therefore strongly urge the quartering of said block aud and early construction st of a system of sewerage and a vigorous enforcement of all sanitary laws Camp complaint laffit lias has reached us from reliable aou rees that there is a slaughter bouse southeast of town situated on a branch of birch creek whose offal pollutes the waters of said saia creek to the detriment and injury oil of the Isett jers who have to use its waters this ibis nuisance should be abated tile the ogen ogden depot question has again bee been 1 1 brought forcibly to the attention of th the e g grand rand lury jury but ina inasmuch as the U P R K R and the C P R it have agreed that a new depot is indispensable thus for shadowing its early construction it is is thought best U not ot to take any action in the matter at this time in conclusion we cannot forego
