thursday night was wag cap captured lured at longpine yesterday and was lynched about 10 oc oclee loe this mornant morning deputy sheriff cline brought him here ere immediately after the arrest and lodged him in jail ail threats of lynching lunching lyn ching were freely made when the lie crime was committed committe dand and the sheriff apprehending that anat an attempt would be made to carry out these threats put two men to guard the jail about 10 this morning sixty men ARMED AND MASKED formed on the outskirts of the village and marched in a body to the jail upon arriving there they sent a detachment to sheriff clines store to secure the keys tile the sheriffs brother heard coming before they r reached the place and locking the store up slipped out the back door he was overtaken by the meb and brought back to the store upon his to open it the mob broke open the dour door but bat after searching for some time they were unable to find them young cline was searched but tile the keys were not found and he declared they were atthe at the sheriffs house without waiting to visit the sheriffs sheriff a house bouse the mob secured a sledge hammer and some axes and went to where
