On Wednesday, September 26th, Kathy Miller, who has starred at Weber State the past four years, was honored as the top Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year by the Utah Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis National Society. for While at Weber State, Kathy was four consecutive years in both basketball and softball, nominee and leading scorer as well as an of the Intermountain Athletic Conference in basketball. During Millers career at Weber State, she amassed a total of 2,745 points for a 27.5 per-gaaverage and a total of 1,296 career rebounds. Miller was recently a first round draft pick for the Milwaukee Does of the Womens Professional Basketball League and will report to rookie camp on October 7. In softball, Kathy had a .423 average in conference day and hit.375 overall. Coach Fern Gardner of the University of Utah has said, Kathy is consistently a high scorer and truly one of the finest shooters in womens basketball today. No matter how you defend her, she will still find a way to score over 25 points. Margie McDonald, coach at die University of Wyoming has stated in the past, I have watched Kathy play for three years and every time we play at Weber State, we try to come up with some way of controlling her scoring and rebounding.
