Ji H , h for the .id v its, hms to ri Investigation May Last 1 Year At Hill HILL AFB - to the chemicals which they Investigators probing into the reports of several Hill Air Force Base "mislabeled civilian employees being seriously affected by toxic gases while working at the northern Utah air base say their investigation probably wont be completed for at least a year " BUT IN recent weeks since the law suit was filed and the investigation started, the list of employees claiming to have been affected has risen sharply - exceeding 100, according to base officials. Dennis Dobbin, a member of the investigative team, said there is evidence that the employees may have been affected by the chemicals but that they (employees) may also have misused the chemicals -- A FEDERAL team of investigators said this week that it is too early to draw any concrete conclusions from the preliminary investigation but noted that the complaints are "probably legitimate. One member of the team representing the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health said the investigation will be intense because "it is clear that several employees have undergone long exposure to IT IS clear that abuses of the chemicals have occurred, possibly because employees have not received proper instructions and training, and improved training procedures will be among recommendations that I will make in my report, he said The claimants of the law suit allege to have contracted cancer because of the misuse of the chemicals chlorinated hydrocarbons which had apparently been misused THE investigation stems from an $8 million law suit against the government filed by two former and one present employee of the base who reportedly worked in Building 100 where the toxic BUT MR.
