Frosty and Kevin Sorenson are those record setters. They are the active sons of Jack and Jeri Conolly and Charles Sorenson of 2427 North and 575 East in North Ogden. Each year the studentbody at Weber High gets together to vote upon a girl and boy to represent them as the royalty for the featured girls choice dance. Kevin was selected by his fellow schoolmates last year and Frosty was voted upon and won the honor this year. Upon arriving home the evening of the dance this past month, Mr. Conolly called his brother, Dick, (who serves as a coach at the school), to inform his that Frosty had claimed the title. Dick proposed looking into the schools history to find whether that sort of accomplishment had taken place before. It was wasnt long before the unique information was fed back to Frosty and Kevin and their family. Frosty just finished celebrating his 18th birthday, so the Sorenson family will have a couple of featured eighteen until Kevin turns 19 on year-old- s Christmas Eve. They are the fifth and sixth children in the Sorenson family. Kevin is presently a member of the Weber State College track team and is attending the school on a track scholarship. His high school career was sprinkled with honors and awards in athletics, primarily track. He holds the Weber High record in the decathlon and was the Most Valuable Performer last season with the Warriors on the track team. In the American High School Athlete publication, he is listed with only nine other athletes from Utah as the top athletes for the 1977-7- 8 school year. He captured a fourth place in the state decathlon event last year after placing first in Region One. He has pole vaulted over 13 feet in the past. Frosty is the musician in the family and hes proud of his brand new guitar. He plays in a number of school assemblies and is a member of a band. Frosty is the head Tallyman for Weber this year and when he isnt cheerleading, hes performing with the Ogden Tumblers. Last Saturday he won a trophy in a certain event.
