But even abandoned cats arent without their friends, and a local group is trying to do what they can to help the cats who are homeless or sick. The fortunate cats find homes with loving families, but far too many of them are homeless 'and sick, left to fend for themselves in garbage cans and . Head for the Hills . It's homes. But the organization need help. A home with a basement for housing up to several cats, at a time is needed as are additional clutf members who are interested in jats and their care. Officers are Doris Jehnsen, president; Jack Fowler, vice president, and Joan Peters, treasurer. The club also has a junior organization headed by Oma Fowler as president and Amisa Mounteer as secretary. HOT Cats will sponsor its third annual household cat show this Oct.l, at the Layton Armory. It is their largest fundraiser of the year and proceeds go to help cats. The show is for household pets which need not be show animals . . Week! Womens 6th 10th. Because of the rising number of stray animals and those that are abandoned by their owners, the club favors spaying or neutering pets. All pets entered in the show must be either spayed or neutered. This has been a volunteer community effort by those who recognize and appreciate the value of local live theater and the utilization of the vast talent pool available in the Bountiful area. The fact that Bountiful does have an established community theater group presenting an annual agenda of theatrical productions is the end result of many hours and a lot of hard work on the part of hundreds of people.
