VlcEvoy ' i j,V . .. Ed Shook. Jeffrey Nielson, By KEN LARSON James R. Draper, John Sun AJwcute Puhnht-- Serfustini, Da id Cox, and Joe Christman. In the announcement. Piccolo said that it was a difficult decision and there w ere se eral very qualified candidates. This was an able bunch, he said. They are all willing and capable of serving. The final decision w as made May 22 . It w as made before the next council meeting because some projected absenses at that meeting will not have a qurom at their next meetingwhich will be held this Wednesday night. However, once McEvoy is sworn in. she will be an active member and the council will hav e a qurom so they can take action on agenda items. When Elizabeth Kourianos resigned from the Price City Council on April 25, no one knew w ho w as interested in filling the position or w ho w ould be selected once those interested did apply. But that question was answered last week when front a field of 10 candidates a special selection committee and Mayor Joe Piccolo decided that the newest Price City councilntemberwil! be Jeanne McEoy, a teacher with the Carbon School District. The candidates who threw their name into the ring included McEvoy, Gary Kcttbas, Earl R. Davis, Jr., Vern Jones. Alan Rindlesbacher, Ted Sandstrom, Erik Sandstrom, Chuck Schell and Gerry Pond stand in front of the SUV they were using last weekend to traverse all 29 counties in the state in 24 hours. The trip was the brain child of Rindlesbacher who was so enticed with his trip through all the counties in the state during the Utah Travel Councils Statehood Centen- - RKHARDsHWV'MN n(K Ml Passport program, that he decided to do it as a publicity tour for the travel council, but instead of taking a year he decided to do it in a day. The group left the state capital at 7:1 0 a.m. on Friday morning and hit Price on their trip about 2:30 p.m. after already traveling through a number of counties to the north of the Carbon County location. ohani cSaidfieasteni 2 (tail 2fdistiicl 9 Cealtfv )ej2aitment 28 So.
