Show 14A Sun Advocate, Price, Utah Tuesday, August 30, 1994 Company distributes 94 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) phone directory Castle Country residents are no strangers to the classic Utah Canyonlands sight of towering rock formations sil- houetted against stormy skies. This year, area residents will see natures electric light show on a daily basis as their fingers do the walking in the recently distributed regional phone book. The 1994 edition of Castle Country Canyonlands Phone Directory features the talent of Oregon resident John Foster. While visiting Canyonlands National Park last summer, I was tempted to paint the bizarre land forms as they would appear in a thunder and lightning storm, said the international award-winnin- g artist. Using Ekker Butte in Canyonlands National Park as his inspiration for the acrylic painting Canyonlands Tempest, Foster portrays the REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS out the eastern Utah region, it only made sense to combine all area listings into one comprehensive directory, said Swen Mortenson, PDC president. Since 1971, buyers and sellers turned to the Castle Country Canyonlands Phone Directory as a valuable community resource. We work hard to ensure residents and businesses receive more than just a phone book. One distinguishing feature of the Castle Country Canyonlands Phone Directory is listings placement. PDC obtains listings for residents and businesses from the telephone companies, then merges and prints them in alphabetical order by name instead of community. This years edition also y includes features such as a numerical user-friendl- cross reference guide, easy-to-rea- d neighborhood maps, United States area codes and geographical power possible time zones map, international with thousands of years of calling information, calendar wind and water erosion. of events and a large-typtwo Wellington City is requesting sealed proposals for the purchase of a new 19941995 1.5 ton heavy duty cab & chassis. What makes the PDC directory provides comprehensive area coverage. Because buyers and sellers depend on each other through column format. The company publishes more than 130 telephone directories nationwide, 11 in Utah. The Utah directories include such communities as Lake Powell, Sevier CounUtah ty, Mt. and Park City. A member survey conducted by the association ear- lier this year showed support for reform increased from 46 percent to 82 percent when long-tercare coverage was included. This is a message Congress shouldnt ignore, commented Karl Swan, an area resident and state coordinator for AARPVOTE. We are supporting comprehensive longterm care for all people who need it, regardless of income. And we are stressing that this include services in the home m and community, not just institutions. Swan pointed out that according to AARP research, Price City will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 21, 1994, for the purpose of receiving input on their plans to seek State and Federal funding for the construction of two additional water tanks in the northeast section of town. The meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Price City Council Chambers, Room 104, 185 East Main, Price, Utah. Public input is desired. Many people mistakenly believe that Medicare will cover all nursing home stays. Medicare pays only for shortterm, skilled nursing home care for people who have been hospitalized. This represented only five percent of the nations nursing home costs in 1990, Swan said. The point is that a devastating, catastrophic injury or illness can really ruin an American family both emotionally and financially, he said. AARPs support universial coverage for quality health, long- - term care and prescription drugs. We also believe that for reform to be successful, it must have equitable financing and have strong measures, Swan concluded. nt American Heart Association I DOCUMENT NO. 00030 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING e, Thousands of free copies of the 1994 Castle Country Canyonlands Phone Directory, published by the Orem-base- d Phone Directories Comwere recently delivInc., pany Judge Halliday IN THE SEVENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT, IN AND FOR CARBON COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH.
