Sorenson of Redmond has recently returned home after successfully completing his O.S U.T. training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Jace gradu- ated on Thursday, March 13, 2003 after fourteen weeks of military training. He is a mem- ber of the Bravo Battery, 1st and 145th Artillery Unit of Manti. During his training at Fort Sill, Jace was part of the Alpha 140 F.A. 1st Platoon "Ruff Ryders". Jace is the son of Dell Sorenson of Redmond, Kevin and Camille Travis Story and Cristan Clark Kristopher Kim Sorenson and Cory Jane Thouren Peter and Beckie Thouren of Logandale, Nevada, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Cory Jane, to Kristopher Kim Sorenson, son of Kim and Verna Sorenson of Aurora. The couple will be married Saturday, March 29 in the Manti L.D.S. Temple. An open house will be held in their honor that same evening, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Aurora Ward Chapel. If you were inadvertently missed, please consider this your invitation. The bride is a 2001 graduate of Moapa Valley High School. She has been working at the advertising marketing firm in St. George while continuing her education. The groom is a 1997 graduate of North Sevier High School and mission in Wellington, New Zealand. Kris has served a full-tim- e graduated from the Fred House Academy and is currently employed with the Sevier County Sheriff's Department. Elder Allan Garrett Elder Allan Garrett Laws will return from serving in the Florida Jacksonville Mission on Wednesday March 26, 2003. Elder Laws will report his mission at 10:50 a.m. in the Redmond First Ward on Sunday, March 30, 2003. Elder Laws is the son of Allan and Christine Laws of Redmond. He is the grandson Arlyne Laws all of Redmond of Willis and Anna Hales and and the late Chester Laws. Mortensen completes Basic Training l Guard Pvt... Josh R. Mortensen has graduated from basic military training Army-Nationa- Fort at Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. During training, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, rifle marksmanship. map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Mortensen is the son of Rick Mortensen of Gunnison, Utah. He graduated in 2000 from Gunnison Valley High School. Sherry Nay, National Forensics Champion Southern Utah University's Sherry Nay, a sophomore communication major from Gunnison, Utah, was crowned national champion in Communication Analysis at the Novice National Individual Event Championships held this past weekend at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Sherry's speech analyzes the work of a graffiti performance artist named "Banksie." Nay applies the theories of communication scholar Stuart Hall to conclude that the artist's work is highly controversial, yet opens new opportunities for free exload pression.
