Show Pane 10 Salina Sun Wednesday. October 2. 1996 Netters tie up NSMS students of Kanab Cowboys the month for Sept. by Ann Braithwaite Staff Writer Short was the most used word at North Sevier High School last week. The Utah Education Association made it possible for the school week to be short, while the Kanab Cowboys volleyball team made it possible for the Lady Wolves stomping victory to be short. For the long miles traveled, the Kanab team sure didnt use their time wisely. Match one started with a Kanab serve, but ended with a North Sevier boom. Junior Danielle Andreason was pounding on the ball in the front row from the first play to the last. With assists from senior setter Shadoe Shaheen, senior middle-blockAnn Braithwaite also knocked down some spikes. The Lady Wolves scored at least one point on every rotation, including several aces. The game was quick and did not provide too much action, but it was another region win for the Wolves. The final scores were 15-- 5 and 15-the Kanab Cowboys came up short in both matches. The action picks up once again on Thursday, October 3, 1996, when North Sevier takes on South Sevier. The team is aiming to begin an entire week of homecoming victories. er 2; A wolf volleyballer goes up for a block on the net. The Lady Wolves are currently ranked third in the state at the 2A level. Some years lems in your lawn that require chemical control, now is the time to take care of that. The temperatures are low enough that there will be no vaporization during the heat of the day. It may take the chemical a little longer to work because of the lower temperatures, but they will work. The main thing is that we be careful. Read the whole label and follow it carefully. A good effort of weed control in the fall and spring will go a long way to reducing the need for a lot of work in the summer. The conferences will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday October 9 and 0, 1996 for the kindergarten. There will be no school for the kindergarten on these days. Conferences for the rest of the school will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 1 6 and 7, 1996. There will be no school in the afternoon on these days. The conferences gives students and parents a chance to ask questions about subjects being taught and to understand expectations. Parents are also given the opportunity to exchange information about their child that might assist the teacher in the classroom. The conference is the place to express compliments or concerns about a childs progress. During the conference, parents will discuss their childs strengths and successes. Areas for improvement will also be reviewed. Working together, parents, students and teacher, will set goals and create a plan of action to support and help the student reach their goals and have a successful year. As of Redmond.
