So please, take the time to buckle up. 1 Dona Marjorie Sorensen Peterson. 75. slipped away peacefully at her home April 25. 1996 surrounded by her fam- ily. Dona was born Jan. 4. 1921 in Centerfield. Utah to niton A. and F.dna Anderson Sorensen. She married John Patterson, divorced. Then married Lucien Peterson August 3. 1948 at Las Vegas. Nevada. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Feb. 22. 1957. She had served in many church and civic assignments. She served as president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for many years. She was named as an honorary member of the PTA. She was named and honored for over 30 years of unselfish service to the 1 program. She served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 31. Manti and was District president of PTA. She was an accomplished musician. She and her husband played in the "Footwarmer's Orchestra" for over 30 years, as well as sang duets together for many funeral and weddings. In I960 Dan Valentine paid them a well deserved tribute for singing at over 2500 funerals throughout their married life. She is surv ived by her husband Lucien. Sterling. Nev.. of complications from a stroke. He was born June 6. 1923, in Elsinore, a son of Franklin Richard and Nora Matilda Nielson. He served in the . Army during World War II. He married Norma Dean Shields April 1. 1948. in Las Vegas. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple Jan. 13. 1990. She died July 10. bi ife A sincere thank you 1995. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Kay moved his family to Henderson. Nev.. in 1954 and has lived there ever since. He owned and operated the Henderson Feed and Supply Store for several years. For 25 years he had his own construction company. He was a heavy equipment operator in construction. Kay is survived by his two children and their spouses. Rodney and Debora Nielson. Aurora, Jacqueline and John Williams. Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services were held Monday. April 29. 1996 at noon at the Sterling Ward Chapel. Interment in the Sterling City Cemetery. She was a caring wife. mom. grandma and friend and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. 1 Graveside services, with military honors accorded by the Elsinore American Legion Post 75. were held Friday. He married Kathryn Olsen from Axtell in the Salt Lake Temple in August of 1946. Tom served in the US Navy and when his time was up he reenlisted. First Counselor Steve Williamsen of the LaMirada 1st Ward officiated and gave remarks. Invocation was offered Anderson. Tributes were given by Tom's brothers. Norman and Con. Three friends sang "Peace in the Valley." The benediction was given by brother-in-laPhil A. Olsen. A three gun salute was given under the direction of Clarence Demsey 7138 VFW.
