skates infantry are receiving the condolences of their many salt lake and other friends over the particularly sad death of their thair sixteen year old son heber S the young youn g man had been III but a few days first making complaint on saturday last the trouble had so suddenly come upon him developed imbo appen moved to the holy cross hospital where a surgical sur gicale operation was performed with a view to giving him relief he was then in a serious condition and the expectations for his recovery were not very strong its his I condition gradually became more critical crItIc aI until last night when he breathed his last the deceased was a bright boy popular with all those who knew him the funeral ogden standard monday night jas toombs jr of willard was run over andin and instantly killed by a switch engine at winnemucca toombs was wae a brakeman and when his train was puling out from winnemucca was standing on its side watching the brakes when a switch engine came down from behind and struck him knocking him flat the track the engine passing over him cutting off his head and both legs and horribly mangling the body the accident Is not fully understood as toombs
