ohire england january 1818 making him fully 79 years of age when lie be died he and his wife joined the he who he was 80 years of age was ordained an elder eider under the hands of elder miles romney salvation W A W HOWARD joseph howard who died at bountiful october 17 1896 was born november 12 1819 in bourhill Fou Four rhill bill worcestershire england he spent the early part ot his life in the gardening and farming business ne s in his native county then went to wales and five years later returned to birmingham where he was engaged as a coal merchant on november 1841 he be married ann shelton who died at bitter greek creek about miles mile s east of salt lake city while crossing the plains it was also in birmingham where he became identified with the church of jesus christ of latter day saints on november 1851 being ordained a priest a year later and an elder two years after he was soon afterwards chosen to 10 preside avei over the ashamed branch here he was cruelly treated and mobbed upon several occasions he had bad presided five years when in 1858 he moved to cookley branch 9 where he was made president and p presided pre r aided until 1864 when he and his family started for ulah they crossed the sea in the ship hudson and the plains in captain hydes company he and the children arriving in salt lake october of the same year they were six weeks and three days day crossing the atlantic and twelve w weeks S ks and three days coming across the plains he went to bountiful the same fall which has ever since been his home may 28 1865 he married caroline woodhall who had bad lost her husband on the plains at nearly the same hour that his wife died he was the father of eleven childrens children eight living five boys and three girls grandfather of seventy five and great grandfather of thirty nine if he had lived to the of november he would have been 77 years of age deceased served as an teacher in his ward for thirty years when he be W was ro released on account of having become ab feeble elder william griffin of salt lake presidents hess and grant W S muir and robert ure spoke at the funeral services which were held at the tabernacle nacle on the following tuesday and thomas briggs presided over the meeting about forty vehicles followed the remains to their last resting place in the bountiful cemetery deceased once made the remark
