speaker he deemed it a great privilege to have the opportunity of again addressing the Saint sand people of manard and bearing his testimony said the cause of truth was progressing in in this part ot of the lords vineyard through the earnest labors of the eiders in visiting and holding meetings where ever opportunity presented it elf and in conversing upon the principles ot of the gospel he bore a strong testimony to 10 the divinity of the gospel touched lightly on the first principles showing the necessity of complying with the laws and ordinances which were established by our savior that we may be led back into the cresence of our creator elder william E newman was the next speaker and took for his subject what is man he read the hymn oh my father that dwell est and went on to illustrate mans origin proving from the scriptures that we had dwelt in a preexistent pre existent state and were the arthe cU children ildren of god he then exhorted r all under the sound ot of his voice to avoid I 1 procrastination and accept the word of the lora loea today as promulgated by his serva servants tits he be went on to show that all were responsible for their own salvation in choosing their own course he spoke upon the authenticity of the book of mormon salvation ot of the dea i 1 and up on the persecutions which the prophets and saints have endured in these days as well as in the days of the savior also the blessings that the saints are enjoy ing now through obedience to divine laws benediction by brother henry berg dort afternoon services commenced by singing prayer by elder W H green singing ing the time is far spent elder W D bowring being called upon aid he was pleased to be with brothers his and sister s and friends of the cherokee nation and to grasp the hand of fel
