LHS gets own flag LAYTON Besides a great win on the football field, the Lancers of Layton High School had another reason to celebrate during the week of homecoming. The school received an official flag. Last spring, the school administration, faculty members and the studentbody felt there was a need for the school to have a flag that would visually represent the school standards and goals. A committee, headed by Jennifer Winegar, was formed to conduct a flag design contest. Three winning designs were recognized. accepted by studentbody dent, Kara Crofts. r, & Buyers are Liberty West Development of Murray. The apprais- - By BRADY NIXON I was driving to work the other day, just minding my own business, when out of nowhere this red Cavalier turns right in front of me. I hit the brakes and slowed the car to 25 mph. As I looked closer at the car, I saw some writing on the trunk of the car. I got closer to the car and then I could read what it said student drivers! I love student drivers. They are the best, most cautious drivers in the world. Not only do they ride the brake, but they are the only people in the world that go 55 on the freeway. As the car made a right hand turn, I decided to follow them for a while. Now we were on a busier street, and I got used to the brake lights flashing every few seconds. I was determined to fluster this young lady driver, so I honked the horn for quite some time. The next thing I knew, all the heads in the back seat disappeared. Slowly their heads popped up and looked back. I smiled, waved, and turned left to go to the mall. That brought back a lot of memories of drivers ed. From carrying the bright red book around all day, to wearing a hat and glasses when driving so nobody would recognize me. Learning how to parallel park, to being scared that all the freak accidents that happened in simulation might actually happen. Its something we have all been through. Its my sisters turn in March. I cant wait. So when March rolls around get off the road, or else have your eyes peeled for a red Cavalier!
