Wayment May 1 in a wedding ceremony at the West Point LDS Stake Center. A reception followed in their honor. The bride is the daughter of Thomas L. and Elsena Jones of West Point. The bridegroom is the son of Steven R. and Norine Wayment of Riverdale. The bride chose Stacey Barz as maid of honor, two of her sisters, Sharolyn Jones and Ladena Sellers and the grooms sister, DaRece Glover and Charlene Wayment as bridesmaids. Her niece Crystal Sellers was flower girl. They were alternately dressed in pink and burgundy. Each held flowers and osterich feathers. The ring bearer was Brad Glover, nephew of the MR. AND MRS. PAUL S. WAYMENT flowers for the line, table decora- tions and the cake which her mother decorated. Paul made groom. The bridegroom chose John Sharia bouquet. Sharia wore a lace gown with three tiered ruffles at the bottom of the skirt caught up on each side with satin bows. The skirt flowed into a long train. Mr. Holt has been involved in many high school activities including advisor to the AFS Club for 13 years. He also taught a photography class for five years and initiated the senior tape, a visual recording of the school activities. The retirement of David Potter who has spent 26 years in the same room at Clearfield High will be noticed. Mr. Potter founded the agricultural mechanics department. He has been a wood shop instructor at Clearfield for the past 23 years. After 27 years, David Taylor will retire. The bride is the daughter of William H. and Mary Olsen, of 579 E. 300 N., Kaysville. Parents of the groom are Mrs. Janet Grant and the late Mr. Grant of Portland, Ore. Jana is a graduate of Davis High School and Brigham Young University. She filled a mission for the LDS Church in Uruguay. She is currently living and working in Sunnyvale, Calif. Peter is a graduate of the University of Oregon, Corvallis and is currently working in Sunnyvale, Calif. JAMES S. WILLIAMS He started as a math teacher at Logan Junior High. After obtaining his administrative certificate, he befcame assistant principal at Centerville Junior High and later principal at North Layton Junior High. He returned to school to earn a counseling certificate. This qualified him for his counseling position at Clearfield High. Art center Shepherd certificated Shepherd, a son of J. Farrell and Lois B. Shepherd of Ogden, was an baseball player in 1976 and Boys Association vice president before graduating from Bonneville High School in 1976. Kelly D. Shepherd of Clearfield was among 34 students from across the United States and Canada who all-sta- te were awarded Gerontology certificates at Brigham Young University after completing coursework that helps them serve the elderly. To receive the certificates, students are required to complete 15 extra hours of courses related to the fields of aging and contribute at least 140 hours of volunteer service through agencies that serve the A 1980 graduate of Snow College where he was and in baseball, he was captain of BYUs baseball team and received a WAC Scholar Athlete award in 1981. Top Layton teens feted By DONETA GATHERUM Twin club slates meet The next meeting of the Ogden Area Mothers of Twins Club will be'Thursday, May 28 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be at the Davis Vocational Portable classroom which is in the northeast comer of the back parking lot of Humana Davis North Hospital in Layton. .This month will be election of new officers, plus the annual twin sale. LAYTON The Layton Chamber of Commerce has recognized three outstanding teenagers at their monthly luncheon. The junior high students honored with recognition certificates were Donna Horrocks and Nicole Kelly. Robert Porter, a Layton High School student, received an engraved pen for his many accomplishments. Donna Horrocks, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy K. Horrocks, is a 9th grade student at North Layton Junior High School. She played forward on the Lady Longhorn basketball team and participated in track. She has been active in her church sports program and placed on an All Star basketball team that represented the best of all players. She was a member of the first place softball team in the Layton City recreation program. Donna is a member of the North Layton Spanish Club and the Hofi-o- r Society. She has been a class officer for several of her church groups. She participated in a March of Dimes read-a-thoNicole Kelly was the student of n. the month from Central Davis Junior High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kelly. Nicole has a 3.8 GPA. She is a member of the Honor Society, the concert band, the select orchestra, the school track team and the cheerleading squad. She takes advanced English and goemetry. Nicole takes flute and piano lessons. She traveled with the Music Flutes performing group. She took first place in piano solos at the district music festival. A son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Porter, this Layton High School senior, holds the school record for the discus throw. He has participated in the state track and field competition for three years, earning many top awards. Robert is president of the ski club. In 1985 he took third place in the annual bridge building contest which is sponsored by the physics department. While he was a student at Central Davis Junior High School, Robert gained special recognition through his award winning science project. This project won first place in the school, district and Weber State science fair. Robert combines school activities with a job. He is the assisting manager at the Layton Cinima 6 theater.
