Show ANOTHER RAID MILL CREEK AND BIG cottonwood VISITED BY DEPUTY MARSHALS about 7 on saturday night the home of LORENZO STUTZ at mill creek salt lake county was encompassed about by deputy marshals with a warrant of arrest for william stutz on a charge of unlawful cohabitation the warrant was served on mr lorenzo stutz who was brought before commissioner mckay today to day and pleaded not guilty to the complaint signed by D W rench and charging him with lawfully colia cohabiting bAing with mrs wm win stutz and jane doe stutz as his wives the commissioner changed the name williana Wll Willi liana aWl to that of the defendant the preliminary examination was waived and mr stutz gave 1500 bail for himself and for each of four witnesses for the prosecution rose cution at the time of tae the visit of the deputies mrs stutz statz was in a very weak condition her babe being but nine days old and the shock to her system has been quite serious early this morning bis big cottonwood ten miles south of this city was also visited by a force of deputy marshals among the number being two whom their chief organ in this city delights to designate by the euphonious titles of arcturus Ar turus Fab fabrucius pratt and domanus Mo manus cicero cannon the f arst named served a warrant of arrest upon GIDEON M MUMFORD who was seated at breakfast when the call was made he was brought to this city to answer to the charge preferred f against him by D DW W fore commissioner mckay of having lived from dec 1 to kov nov with mrs gideon mumford and jane doe mumford as his bis wives the defendant waived examination and was required to give bail to await the result of the grand jurys investigations six witnesses were also ordered to furni furnish sli bonds in the sum of each all of the witnesses in these cases were ordered to appear before the grand jury on monday november 22 |
