caine arose and read the following proposition SALT LAKE CITY june jane 6 1893 1898 to the tabernacle choir A committee appointed by the first 7 presidency of the church are endeavoring to make arrangements for the taber nacle choir to the number of members to be selected by professor stephens to visit the columbian exposition at chicago in september next with a view to their taking part in the competitive 0 musical program as the mormon tabernacle choir of salt lak i city op the committee propose to pay railroad fares and furnish sleeping accommodations in pullman tourist sleeping cars care both going and returning and pay board and lodging at chicago and at such other places as am the party may stop conditioned however that thac such mem members as may be selected agree to give their services gratuitously for three weeks and take part in such concerts not lose less than ten nor more than fifteen as may be arranged for during the tr trip ipa both going and reL and also appear and take part in the competitive exercises in chicago and be governed by such rules and regulations respecting rehearsals hear attendance at ac concerts etc as may be adopted by the director and the committee in order to render the trip both pleasant for the party slid and successful for the promoters As the enterprise involves the expenditure of a large sum of money it will be necessary for all who are selected to enter into an agreement binding themselves to perform faithfully their part of the program outside of the time necessary for rehearsals hear and performances the members will have ample opportunity to visit the exposition or enjoy themselves in any way they deem proper as their time will be entirely at their own dip disposal osal the committee and its agents will render every assistance possible to make the trip one of pleasure and profitable enjoyment to all who may participate in it the proceeds of all concerts over and above expenses and prizes won if any will be turned
