| Show LEGAL COLUMN resolution PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO SECTION 3 ARTICLE X XI 1 I OF THE constitution RELATING TO COUNTIES CITIES AND TOWNS FOR till THE PURPOSE OF prescribing MANNER OF CREATE CREATING NG NEW COUNTIES IS AND CHANGING boundaries BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE legislature OF THE STATE OF UTAH section 1 the following proposition to amend the constitution of tile the state or of utah is hereby submitted to the qualified electors of the state for their approval or disappio disapproval oval namely that section 3 1 ot of article XI nr of the constitution of the state ot of utah be and the same is hereby amended to tead lead as follows section 3 3 3 the legislature shall liae haie power to enact laws creating new a e w counties out of teni teril tory taken from one or more of the existing counties of this state and defining the duties and obligations of any such new county as between itself and any county bioni which territory is taken in its creation also to enact laws the boundaries of any court coun ty y section 2 the secretary ot of state is hereby ordered to 16 cause this proposition to be published in at least one newspaper in ill atey count county of tile state where a newspaper Is published for two months immediately preceding the next general election section 3 this proposition shall be submitted to the electors of this state at the next general election for their rip approval or disapproval all official ballots used at such election shall haie printed or written thereon the words for the amendment of section 3 article XI of the constitution and against the amendment to section 3 article XI of the constitution ution together with such other title designating such amendment as may be provided aided by law said ball ballots shall be deceived and said votes shall be taken counted oun ted canvassed and returns thereof be made in fit the same manner and in all respects as is provided by law in ill the case of the election of state officers section 4 this amendment if adopted at said election shall take effect and be in force from and after the first day of january A D 1909 STATE OF UTAH office of the secretary of state ss 1 I charles S secretary of state of tile the state of utah do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full true and an 1 l correct copy of a resolution proposing nil an amendment to section I 1 3 of article XI of the constitution I 1 of the state ot of utah relating to counties cities and towns for the purpose ot of prescribing of creating new counties and changing boundaries passed at the seventh regular session of the legislature of this state U IX TESTIMONY WHEREOF I 1 have i hereunto set my hand band and affixed the great seal of the state of ulan at salt lake city this day of august 19 OS SEAL C S TINGE 17 Secre secretary tari of oc state |
