continue thirty six weeks exclusive of the vacation for the winter holidays this to is its sixth f academic year the college has hitherto occupied the building known as the social hall and has never had sufficient room to 1 accommodate all the applicants for ad mission recently the stake board of education has secured by purchase the spacious grounds and building owned J by mrs Eller ellerbeck beek on first north bet tween first and second west W with 1 th some alterations the house can be util ned at once and with the additions that will be made ample eions will be provided applications should be presented in good time tickets of admission can be had of the treasurer W A rossitor Bos kr tho the terms for admission are for the first term of sixteen weeks weeke inter s mediate department academic 11 normal 11 for the second term of twenty weeks intermediate academic 13 normal IS 13 A little more than half these therm amounts w will ill be charged for a half term all to be paid in advance A limited number of J ormal normal students will be admitted free of charge their tuition being paid by 1 the church applications must be made to the principal dr james E talmage there is now no primary depart 1 ment at the college the name in cin 11 has been retained but bat there is no lower grade and students in order to enter this department show ability to take a course consisting of theology reading beading in fifth reader grammar composition orthography arithmetic geography penmanship Penman penmanship shi P hygiene and vocal music special studies may be purs pursued tied in rhetoric united states history drawing nat ural history elementary algebra s geometry latin german and span job to the academic department stu dents will be admitted who show ability to take higher studies in theology rhetoric literature history mathe matics language and science elock tion civil government algebra geometry surveying book keeping C commercial om mercial law natural philosophy chemistry astronomy mineralogy geology biology domestic science agriculture etc are among the studies that may be purs pursued nod in this department admission to the normal depart ment requires abilities similar to those for the academic the course extends through two years and comprises a I 1 junior and senior claw class puller fuller par ticul tic ulars are are contained in the circulars of the general board of education s there to is a special ladies claw class that meets once a week which all the lady students have to attend and in which iaz in hygiene habits etc are K given by the lady superintendent F the discipline of the college forbids profanity obscenity the use of tobacco 1 or alcoholic liquors visiting places at lt which intoxicants are sold or games of I 1 chance carried on atten attendance danee at ent not approved by the church authorities etc boarding 1 y houses must be approved by the prin aleal A complete registry is kept of the name standing conduct etc of I 1 ech each pupil 1 the college has a lar large ge assortment Is of apparatus of various kinds to facile fc tote tate study including cabinets of geoe logical and mineral specimens
