attend his brother in law kept asking me why madsen had committed the deed I 1 did not like to tell him of the trouble we had in ogden so said I 1 did not know I 1 told him I 1 had asked madsen to go to a gambling house and he refused the day of the inquest I 1 left maddens Mad sens brother inlaw in law telling him I 1 would be back in a few minutes but I 1 did not return as I 1 thought it if was no affair of mine on monday night I 1 took a freight train to ogden and on tuesday night I 1 was arrested arr sted I 1 asked mr bacon if he thought madsen was worth money I 1 thought I 1 could sustain an action against him for the trouble between us this was my reason for asking if he had money he did not owe me anything f I 1 thought he had injured my reputation I 1 told of the trouble madsen did the statements in his letter only he be said that he was ruined for life because of the trouble we had had and because I 1 told of it I 1 told a number of persons about it I 1 promised him that I 1
