Three random students are also chosen for the committee by the student body president as a way to get student feedback in the process ,she said. However, any student is welcome to attend the meeting. What a lot of students dont realize is that its an open said. meeting, Bowthorpe We want to draw attention to that because everything we do, the students should hold us accountable for. Roeder said fees help pay for needed expenses. Fees are a necessary part of student life, he said. There are other services that require support that tuition money does not cover. Roeder said the money paid in student fees goes back to the students in other areas. For example, the $2.50 music fee pays for concert and recital admission. Students are admitted to music events free with their I.D. card. Roeder said the price for the general public to attend SUU music events is between $5 to $10, but for $2.50, students can attend at least 14 music events Roeder said he believes that when students are able to see the fees broken down and where the money goes, they are better able to understand and appreciate the process. Tuition pays for the education they receive in the classroom, but student fees pay for the experiences that go beyond what theyre studying, Roeder said. SLIU has unique opportunities. Once theyre aware of what they pay for, hopefully (students) will check it out. p.m., Music Bldg RM 204 High: 86 Low: 59 Q: FRIDAY FRIDAY, SEPT 6 SUNNY No events are currently scheduled for this day.
