| Show alleged real estate swindle shannon son is the title of a real estate firm doing business in this city and a very serious charge has been preferred against the members of the farm by J A bent jr the litter latter alleges that he bought from cyrus D kelley through his bis agents oliver and thomas B shannon a certain parcel of land in what Is called the utah southern addition to salt I 1 lake city paying 1100 in cash and 2200 in a promissory note bote he says that shannon son showed him a tract of land alleged to be the one owned by mr kelley and that he agreed to take it at the price named he now alleges that the land conveyed to him and purporting to be that which be nad had examined was a different tract situated a mile farther from the city and of much less value he alleges that he has in this manner been defrauded and that mr kelley and shannon son SOB were perfectly aware of the fraud at the time it was perpetrated he accordingly cordio gly made out a complaint against the three parties named and the they were arrested last ni night ht and admitted to bail in the sum sam of jam 2000 each pending the examination on monday next the defendants deny that they showed the complainant another piece of land than that which he purchased and say there has been no fraud on their part the complainant bought the land for per acre and subsequently tried to dispose of it for per acre but tailed failed the matter will probably be ventilated in the j justices a slices court |
