Brady did a good job in a field that included some of the better collegiate golfers in the country. Peterson also leads the squad with a 75.57 stroke average over 18 holes. 36-ho- Thinclads travel to Pocatello Healthier women and a bolstered mens squad will represent Southern Utah at the Idaho State Invitational cross country meet Saturday morning in Pocatello. We think we will be facing several Big Sky Schools and other cross country squads from the northern portion of the intermountain region, Bill Evans, Thunderbird cross country coach, said. The competition should be plenty tough. Two freshman runners from Cedar City, Jeff Barton and Brian McCoy, have been added to the Thunderbird mens roster. McCoy ran in his first meet of the season Saturday at the Southern Utah Invitational. The SU women should be stronger this week with a healthier Dolonna Jensen and JoDee Downey. Jensen is nursing an achilles injury and did not compete last week. Downey ran a gutty race with cracked ribs suffered in a work accident. We should be improved this week, said Evans. Physically we were hurting last week. The bright spot last week for the Thunderbirds in their hosted meet was the first place finish by Mary Gribble in the womens division. Mary was a little disappointed with her time, 21 minutes flat, but her performance was strong, Evans said. She led from start to finish, and most of the time by a wide margin. Without someone to push her more, she ran easier than she might have otherwise. iotiiimjPKtimii r. 1i(- V V' yrfif MMtmiLi (& Cji ijVViK V Jkjxilli OCTOBER PAGE 11, 1990 11 Peterson hits 156 CLASSIFIED at Air Force meet Bird Wytch ri.,.Tj$jV THURSDAY, (teHili lit " ti 1 Happy birthday Maureen Robb - Even though its one day late!
