During their respective trials, Wood and Archuleta accused each other for Churchs death. Wood, who blamed Archuleta for the slaying, testified that he took no direct part in the killing. Following Woods conviction, however, defense attorney Marcus Taylor said it appeared jurors chose not to believe any of Mr. Woods testimony. Millard County Attorney Warren Peterson praised the jurys findings. The verdict was fair. Two people committed a murder. Both of them should have been convicted. Both of them are now convicted, he said.
