We want to make people aware of the facilities and plans at the college ranch, and we want to help provide a meaningful activity to people visiting our area during Pioneer Day, said Carter. Summer school officials implemented Cabin Construction and Cabin Renovations, a series of workshops designed to develop a curriculum related to recreational construction, during summer 1988. Special instructor Jerry Lawrence, along with the help of students and volunteers, added the cabins Canyon View Room. These workshops provide instruction in cabin building and recreational facility planning while improving the Canyon Ranch site. Following improvements scheduled for summer 1989, SUSCs ranch will be open for campus activities.
