Show PACE 6 THE THUNDERBiRD MONDAY MARCH 28 1988 New Post Office offers better service rC services at SUSC may soon begin presorting the first class mail sent out from the college which will mean a significant savings to the college Many times larger than the Post Office facility used in the former student building, the new office gives employees more room to work and better lighting "to let us see what we're doing," said Delos Dalton, mail room coordinator With the space to presort mail by zip code, Dalton said college departments and offices can pay 4 cents less per letter With the price of stamps going up in April, the savings can add up, he said The new Post Office sits across from the Kolob Living Room and off from the main hallway Students and faculty have much better access to the postal boxes and the office without going through the maze leading to the Bookstore in the old building, scid Dalton Because of its location off the beaten track, he said postal patrons no longer have to worry about getting trampled by CAMPUS POST OFFICE The new facility affords much better access traffic Employees also have an easier time getting back to the delivery and loading docks at the west side of the new Student Center Again Dalton said his office no longer has the maze of the Bookstore stockroom to go through SUSC postal employees travel to the city Post Office twice daily to deliver outgoing mail and receive mail coming to the campus SUSC's office also features United Parcel Service delivery daily before noon, and UPS receives campus parcels daily before 4pm Students may rent post office boxes from the college by the year or by the quarter Dalton said the Post Office does not plan to expand the number of boxes in the new building, but it still has rentals available The Post Office is open weekdays 10 am to 4 p m and Satuidays 9 a m to noon CZ OPEN Chery I Ann Guff checks her old mailbox in its new surroundings Of course, it was overflowing as always Student postal clerk Thor Larsen has a much greater space to work in He's serving secretarial maor Kim Hastings of Rexburg, Id 3 IN THE NEW STUDENT CENTER FROM 7AM TO 6 30 P.M.
