May 10 is the nomination deadline, according to Dr. Hal K. Campbell, the 1984-198award recipient and chairman of this years selection committee. SUSCs Outstanding Educator will be announced at the June 7 commencement exercises and will receive a $500 cash award. Additional Distinguished Educator Awards will also be presented then. Nominations should include the nominees name, present faculty 1985-198- position and reasons for nomination. They are to be mailed to Campbell, co the SUSC music department, where additional information is Other available by calling faculty members and SUSC seniors are also eligible to submit nominations. According to established criteria, nominees must: Possess extraordinary enthusiasm and ability to teach subject matter; demonstrate a sincere interest 586-787- 5 i , in students; possess the ability to inspire and motivate students to high achievement; have four years minimum classroom teaching experience at SUSC; have demonstrable current knowledge of subject matter in their iield and exhibit scholarly activity in all areas; and show and interest in and knowledge of areas outside of their specialization.
