The annual event is held to honor members of the citizens organization which was organized in 1978 to promote the fine arts through SUSCs Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. The seventh annual Friends dinner will start at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall. In addition to Nixons remarks, musical selections will be provided by vocalist Jackie R. Jackson, and those in attendance will have an opportunity to preview two exhibits the Annual SUSC Art Faculty Exhibit and Recent Works by Ronda Nielson scheduled to open the following evening at the SUSC gallery. Members are also invited to attend a concert featuring the SUSC Symphony Orchestra at 8:15 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall, notes Friends Chairperson Mary M. MacDonald. Nixon was appointed director of the Utah Arts Council by Governor Norman Bangerter.
