Show ROCK KOCK SPRINGS correspondence A COUPLE OF SEVERE ACCIDENTS ROCK SPRINGS WyOn wyoming lim july 15 1886 editor deseret news last evening july 1886 as some workmen were engaged loading a car with fc piles to be used in the making of a new bridge across bitter creek about four miles mile from rock bock springs tile the rope with which they were hoisting them broke and tile the spile fell on one of the men inen named thomas clinton whose home is in sydney nebraska injuring him severely it crushed his right leg in a shocking manner and broke two of nis his ribs he was placed on a car and abd a an engine u gine speedily brought him into rockne rock S springs where his injuries were ivere promptly attended to by dr woodruff of this place he was placed on board th the e passenger train going east the same evening as h 3 desired to be taken home A goodmann good many are of the opinion that he wont live to reach there his injuries being so severe an employed of the coal company whose name I 1 failed to learn in some way got under a car at no 4 mine and haddis had his feet severely injured some say his toes were severed from both leet feet he also was placed on board the train last evening to be taken to the hospital at denver Th the weather eweather here has been exceedingly hot the last week or so the thermometer ranging from 98 96 to it has threatened several times lor for a storm but all we have got far some time thae has been a few drops last sunday I 1 was sitting in the shade with a friend of mine and he was fortunate enough to get one but I 1 got left the saints here are all well |
