argument to quash indictment in the kimball case was closed this afternoon by mr hempstead when the court au adjourned until monday morning tre THE attention especially of the farmers and stock raisers of the territory hab has been frequently called through the columns of we atio NEWS to the value vaine of the angora or cashmere goat and we are gratified to be able to state that thab on sunday last a large fiock flock of these animals arrived here and will be immediately bent to the southern portion of the territory for the purpose of breeding pure and also of crossing with the cornman goat where a operative cooperative co corn pany will be bil formed for the purpose this flock numbers one hundred and or one hundred and twenty the number when they left the east I 1 or rather father the south ivas iras was one hundred and th thirty lity but during theil thell transit over the iong long dista distance nea from that point to this territory some gome ten die dle died d it Is necessary unnecessary tin to dwell here upon noon the ahe profit arising arm yra m the pros prosecution i elution of a systematic method of stock ral rai raising bing sIng all farmers who have paid attention to or who are at all acquainted with the subject know that iri ili inthis this country it oan can be carried on with far burer surer and larger returns than any branch of business that can chu occupy the time and attention idil of those living in agricultural districts and following agricultural pursuits for a livelihood this baing bein the caso case it is 19 to the Inter interest eat pat of al all ail I 1 bue sue such patties to know what branch or Q bt stock ck raising can edu be followed with the greatest profit it ia is a fact now demonstrated by the operative cooperative co associations of the territory that the raising of cattle and sheep shepp may be made madg highly when attended to in a system systematic atiq atla and business like manner but we believe from what we have heard aid alid ald read in relation to the angora goat from its hardy nature and the high price which its hair and skin command in the markets of the enat east and europe that if the propagation of these animals be entered estered upon and persevered in in this territory it in may ay b be 8 made mad 0 ful fal fully ay as lucrative as if not more so than any other branch of the stock raisers ral rai serb sers business these animals are wonderfully hardy being able to bear it it said the froats frosts of winter or we the heat of summer bummer bummer summer in almost any latitude or country with like impunity from their hair which la Is equal in the pure breeds to the finest silk the costly and famous mohair goods are manufactured their fleece fleeoa I 1 averages average 3 about nive five pounds per single individual and in the english market the standing price paid by manufacturers for jair fair I 1 average hair Is from one dollar to one dollar and a quarter per pound their skins are also aiso very valuable and the meat la Is considered little if at all infer lor to mutton the goats will wilt live and thrive well on the coarsest herbage in fact where sheep would die dio out and viewed in all its bearings hearings we think there is scarcely any branch of business to which operative cooperative co efforts could be directed with greater profit than the acclimatization and ral rai raising sing of the angora goat about sixty of 0 the hundred and twenty which af rived arrived here last sunday are what la termed pure and full fall blooded the remainder remain dor dbr are graded shares in the company are about fifty dollars each elder john taylor of this city and joseph E johnson and walter dodge both well known residents of southern utah areco believe leading members
