Show ST GEORGE STAKE stare QUARTERLY conference the quarterly conference of the st george stake of zion was held saturday and sunday dec and 1885 president J D T mcallister presiding preliminary meetings began at 2 p in on friday by the relief societies of the stake colv convening nine inthe in the lyceum in st george under the presidency of sister anna L ivins the presidency of the stake and others of the brethren bret were present in consequence of the removal of sister All minerva nerva W snow from the stake her resignation as stake president of the re relief ilef lief societies was accepted aud anda acda a hearty and unanimous vote was taker taken expressive of the appreciation I 1 by the relief societies of ner her long ul and efficient en t services while occupying that position sister anna L ivins was elected as stake president of the relief societies with esi tSi sisters mary alary B eyring and ann 0 woodbury as counselors president mcallister and the brethren then withdrew leaving the sisters in session and attended the thee stake conference of high priests which had just commenced at 10 a in on saturday morning the general stake conference commenced its session closing its proceed proceedings ln s on sunday afternoon we were not favored with the presence ot of any of the general authorities of the church there was a large representation resen tation from the wards composing the stake eve eveny every r ward being represented the usuff usual conference b business list was transacted by the reading of reports stati statistical statistics stica I 1 and financial and by unanimous votes vote to sustain general and local church authorities the verbal reports of presidents Bish bishops and other off officers leers were concise c ise lse and expressive of continued faith and good works among the people notwithstanding the serious ter temporal losses to which they have been subjected by floods and otherwise this season in connection with our conference meetings the sunday schools and young M mens e nys and young ladies al I 1 associations jointly held their conference as did also the primary associations of the stake A free flow of the holy ted and directed the teachings of the presidents of the stake and of tae toe others who ministered to the congregations con re gat ions JAMES G BLEAK stake clerk cleek |
