| Show S S JUBILEE jubiler AT bouthi I 1 JORDAN SOUTH JORDAN november 4 in 1885 editor deseret news the sunday schools of live IN wards aids ards viz sandy west jordan herriman riverton and south J jordan ordan had a very enjoyable time today to day participating I 1 in a jubilee at this place gotten go aten up by the five schools above named present on the stand f from roin salt lake assistant general superintendent george V goddard od dard stake supt bupt john C cutler elders wm win willes TE tay lorand loran dj J H parry also suits of the schools taking part in the exercises the exercises of the day consisted as they generally do on such oc occasions casious of songs dialogues recitations etc which were well performed if I 1 should attempt to enumerate I 1 could not do justice to the several performers dut out some numbers shone quite brightly in the galaxy viz a song by the misses egberts of west jordan entitled ill look down from heaven on thee 11 also a motto song composed for the occasion by fifteen young fl gadies adles adies entitled our grand J jubilee jubliee 91 A number ot of addresses were also delivered elder JH parry spoke on the necessity of kindness toward each other and illustrated the same by reciting a story T E taylor believed if we were permitted we would see angels of heaven hovering over a meeting of this kind likened the children present to little flower gardens which needed nourish nourishment menti tile the same as our farms in order to bring forth good fruit brother willes remarked that there were many things io be taught the children of the saints among which were iove love charity caulion cau lou iou and to watch and pray stake supt bupt J C cutler advised congregational singing wished the children encouraged in punctuality brother goddard reviewed the proceedings ce and stated that etwas it was impossible for the children to forget such things as had taken place here today to day showed shored the necessity of these reviews and the benefits derived on motion of J C cutler the same committee was retained to tet let et up a jubilee sometime during the summer months of next year also on motion of brother cutler isaac J wardle of south jordan was unanimously sustained as a delegate ate to visit draper and see sey if the sunday school authorities there were willing to join in our next jubilee yours respectfully johs JOHN HOLT secy segly jubilee P S I 1 must not neglect to mention the choir so ably conducted by hyrum goff of west jordan it was way composed of lip wards of 50 sin sers cers from the several wards taking part and I 1 can truthfully say that htwa it wa 4 one of the most imposing features of 0 theilan the ay J 11 |
