| Show A TRAGIC occurrence E A CHILD BURNED TO tori 0 DEATH beati AT 1 clr CIR CLEVILLE 1 JUNCTION plute plate co utah march 10 1885 1883 editor deseret news A fearful occurrence took place on the ath lost at about 5 pm in circleville Cir cleville about six miles south and ind west of this place by which a little son of jetson 11 button nearly four years rears old was burned to death the circumstances as related yere were vere as fol aws 1 the th members to the family illy were were all anthe the house bousa when the little boy was it 4 seen on the bed examining his brothers coat which hung against the wall and it seems he tok took a match from ane pocket and went out unnoticed going coins to the he set fire to some hai hay which was inside a building r composed of logs and lumber ile he had hao crawled th through an opening betwee between ft the logs and got inside and it Is supposed that as soon as t the fire began to burn his ilace glace place of entrance was blocked so that he c could not get out the notice ot of the family was first attracted by hearing him scream and on rushin rushing gout out of the house they were horrified to lind find the barn burn and stable on fire and the child inside the wind was blowing at the time causing the fire to make quick progress and ana when the father succeeded in removing a board from the side of the building with pith the hope of making an entrance and rescuing the child the bams clamps puffed into his face and his efforts were in vain and it seemed only the work of an instant until he saw the child raise its hands and fall fail fallen on its tace lace overpowered evered by the fire the nearest nel nei neighbors ghiors who were some distance away hastened to the scene but all they could do for the child was to dash water on to the tha body and prevent its being burned to ashes and it was not recovered until badly charred in places the loss of property to the family was heavy but will hardly be noticed on account ot of the more deplorable ciri cum stAnces connected with the sad affair mr air button and family have the sympathy of the entire community in their heavy affliction respects respectfully ully morrill |
