mr nir woolley moved that mr cluff be the president of the council this was adopted unanimously the president having taken ills his seat expressed his gratitude for the appointment and trusted that with ag t the C I 1 assistance of his coadjutors lie he would be ablerto able abie to give lve ive them satisfaction and further he hoped they would act with harmony to together ether the oath having been administered the hon llon president suggested that they should now proceed to the election of officers so as to effect a complete comple t e 01 organization the election of omm off meers officers sworn in and this organization of the council Counell was completed E G woolley y and J T hammmond Hammond Ha mamond ramond were appointed to act with it a committee from the house howalt to wait on the governor to inform him that the council was ready to td hear from him adjourned till 1015 tomorrow to morrow etiva s suggested that 2 pm each day ly would be a convenient hour for ine meeting eting as it would give the committees ees an opportunity of getting 1 through any work in time the chief clerk then read a communication muni cation from froni the house relative w to the appointment of a committee of three 11 peery cery hatch and Thur moan roan to ackwith act with the committee of the council in waiting upon his lils excellency cel lency the governor A discussion arose owing to a grevl previous motion for a committee of three to draft rules for the government of t he q jio dio I 1 tilli council 1 1 some members arguing that the ruling 1 g of the chair wound would 1 be clent cleat ami 1 I others that fixed axed reg rew regulation gu lations were ilece necessary ary this stage of the proceedings it was w as deemed advisable to take a recess until the return of the committee appointed in conjunction with that of the Ho housego wait upon the governor on reassembling it was agreed that low lom losy am tuesday should be tile the hour and day oil on which to meet a day to be paid out of the territorial treasury carried mr nir woolley pro proposed ased that an usher be appointed for the e session at a remuneration mune mun ration cration of four dollars a day to be paid as above council adjourned for the purpose of meeting in joint s session with the house in the other chamber ch amber the message of ills his excellency having been delivered it was committees on enrollment public printing and territorial library to consist of two members each from tile the council and three from the house it was agreed to i 1 l the chief clerk read a communication from the house regarding f limiting armity copies of laws newspapers newspaper sand and i pos postal t al matter I 1 i adjourned till 3 tuesday january 15 1884 4 chief clerk read a note from the other chamber to the effect that they agreed to the solution resolution ie regarding printing inting tr and that a committee had haa been een cen appointed it was moved and adopted that the time to prepare them mr hammond thought the clerks ought to be able to keep up with the discussion of the chamber and opposed the motion r on being put to the vote it was lost minutes were read and
