Show I The Salt take Tribune, Wednesday, January 10, 1962 Up and Down the Street New York Stock Market Sales AbbottL AC Find Admiral AirReduc AlcoProd AilegLSt AlhedCh AlliedStr AlhsChal AlumLtd INITIALLY, PRODUCTION WILL be 4,000 tons of ore daily, or roughly 600,000 tons annually of muriate of potash. TGS will proceed almost immediately into the construction of another unit at the beneficiation plant, lifting output to about l,200f)00 tons annually. Later, the firm will add a third unit to hike output to 1,800,000 tons a year. This will make Cane Creek the single largest producer of potash in the United States and perhaps the world. Dr. Fogarty " , explained.. Establishing Regional Sales Offices He told the Rotarians that TGS already had established potash sales offices in Atlanta, Ga., and Houston, Tex., and Chicago, and is establishing other sales offices in the United States. He said the firm anticipates no difficulty whatsoever in selling its Utah potash product. He said the main shaft, tapping the rich potash reserves at Cane Creek existing at between 2,000 and 3,500 feet, was at a depth of 956 feet Tuesday morning. It will go to some 2,800 feet. DURING DECEMBER, THE contractor, Harrison International, completed grouting with cement of a small water intrusion!. But Dr. Fogarty said that this water flow was of minor significance to the progress of the shaft and of no to 100s CioseChg. itself.- - concrete circular shaft probHe said that the ably will be the deepest shaft of such size in the United States. Eventually the project will boast four big product storage buildings, each about the size of a football field and each containing 125,000 tons of muriate of potash. Potash will move from storage td railroad cars, which will haul It up a industrial spur being constructed by Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Co. DR. FOGARTY WAS INTRODUCED by Gus P. Backman, executive secretary of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. He noted that the existence of the project caused him to reflect areas, that if all of Utah were tied up in parks and wilderness there wouldnt be any 'Texas Gulf Sulphur Co. operation in Utah. e Sales In 100s FoodFalr FMCcp AmalSg Amerada AmAIrl AmBosch AmBrdPar AmCan AmCvan AmDist Am&FP Am Home AmMFdy AmMetCI Am Motors AmNGas AmOptical Am Photo AmPtsh AmResrct) AmSmelt AmSfd AmStIFd AmTST AmTob Am Viscose .
