Philips big brothers and sisters grunted in disgust and said the pear wouldnt have been any good anyway But Philip knew it' was the best pear of all and he wanted it more than ever. Whenever Philip found a nice, juicy ear of corn, one of his big brothers said, Here, give me that Its much to good for you, and snatched it aw ay from him that Its much too good for you," and snatched it away from him When Don brought them apples from the oi chard Philips big brothers and Mitus pushed and shoved him, and sometimes thev even bit his ears to maice him get away so they could have all of the Farmer Fnsby hid a dear little girl named Alice When Alice heard her father say they might have to get nd of Pluhp she felt very sad. course the big pigs pushed and shoved each other, too. and they all snatched Of g said Alice, Daddy, thats my little Philip Please dont take him away He doesnt get enough to eat because hes too polite to push and shove Let me have him for my very ow n, and Ill take such good care of him Oh. apples. grand-tastin- hard-to-get-o- ut Son, said Farmer Fnsbv one day, that little pig over there doesn't seem to be doing very well I guess well have to get nd of him If Philio found a nice, red, juicy tomato, one of his big sisfeis said, Heie, give me things from each other with the most awful manners But little Philip nev m did push or shove or bite at the others when they treated him so He must have been badly born with manners, and so he often went hungry One day Don brought a big bucketful of the most lovely pears and peelings Philip happened to be near the trough when the pears and peelings were put into it. and he goi one delicious mouthful before Ins big brothers and sisters pushed him away Oh, how he did want some more of those pears and peelings, but when the big pigs got through, Philip couldn t find even a smell of the wonderful pears At one side of the pen was a stone wall, and on the other side of the wall was a pear tree One branch of the pear tree hung over the pen so that every once ir a while one of the pears on the branch dropped into the pen, and then what a scramble there was for that delicious pear Once Philip got hit on the To help you run your home with style thats what our Home Economists are all about. At last there was only one large, luscious pear left on the branch Philip wanted that pear more than anything else in the whole world, but he certainly didnt expect to get it because his big brothers and sisters wanted it, too They began to quarrel among themselves about who was going to have that wonderful, big pear. They even tned to push the stone wall to make the pear fall down into the pen, but the stone wall didn't move an inch. One afternoon Philip was looking at the lovely, luscious pear Philip's brothers and sisters were looking at the pear, too All at once the pear let go of the branch and dropped It didnt drop int the pen after all It fell on top of the wall Well, said Farmer Fnsby, that might not be a baa idea Well move him to that little pen over there, and you may see what you can do with Kristen Taylor Home Economics Supervisor Salt Lake City May we serve your group?
