In the previous year, This relieved Murray State of its unit bank status and opened Murray to the establishment of branch banks. Brimhall explained. So far this year, the department has received applications for one unit bank and one branch bank. As of Jan. 29, there were seven unit bank and 14 branch applications bank applications pending in the department. The FTC said Xerox built its monopoly through unfair marketing and patent practices, and by stopping foreign affiliates from competing with the parent firm in the United States. Well be holding a hearing a week for some time, Brimhall said. Department records show a somewhat steady rise in new bank applications since 1966, when only one application was submitted. The agency originally proposed the complaint last Dec. 12.
