County MA T eadneirs Hlejjed Offer The trend to early teacher contract settlements in Utah school districts was slowed today after Jordan District teachers rejected a tentative agreement. Members of the Jordan Education Association asked Wednesday that its negotiations team return to the table to renegotiate for lower class loads, use of more paraprofessional personnel and quality education as measured by national education standards. The action came at a membership meeting at Mt. Jordan Junior High School. The to vote on the issue was 202 177 with the total (379) repre senting only a minority of the JEA membership of 966. Thacker, JEA presisaid today teachers did dent, not reject the salary figures, but based their action on the class load and related issues. The negotiating teams had agreed on a 5.87 percent increase in salary schedules and a .28 percent increase in insurance casts.
