District Court lawsuits charging seven firms in Utah and Salt Lake counties with having failed to make required reports and payments. Plaintiffs are trustees of the Painters and Associated Trades Health and Welfare Trust Fund, the group's vacation trust fund, the Salt Lake Painters and Associated Trades Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust Fund, the Painting and Decorating Industry Promotion Trust Fund and the Salt Lake Drywall Finishers Apprenticeship Trust Fund. One suit names as defendants Rapp Construction; AAA Drywall; Robert A. Stomberg, Phillip Brow and Philip Hunn, doing business as Personalized Painters, all of Salt Lake County. The other suit names the following Utah County defendants: Fawn Sampson and Gary Sampson, doing business as (dba) Sampson Bros. Drywall; Ted Sorensen,. dba Ted Sorensen Lathe and Plaster Co.; Ralph E. Smith, dba Smith Wall Covering; Lindquist Tile Co. According to the suit, various contracts between the plaintiffs and defendants require the companies to file accurate and timely reports with the unions and make payments into the funds based on the number.of hours worked by company employes. The suit said each defendant failed to make timely and-o- r accurate reports, and failed to make payments as required. The suits said the Sampson firm has not made reports since March 1974; Sorensen did not make reports from January to November 1975; Smith, SeptembeP 1975 to present; Lindquist, January 1975 to June 1976; Rapp from October 1975 to present; AAA from May 1975 to present, and Personalized Painters did not file reports from August 1975 to present. orange and black.
