Director Wright said today he will compare statistics from neighboring stoles to determine whether the Utah Pardons Board is overworked. The Board heard 108 cases in five sessions during the June, he said. Wright explained that the increase in number of cases is compounded by the growing length of parole violation hearings. Violation suspects must have attorneys present and the hearings sometimes draw on into complex legal proceedings, he said. Wright said his study will take about three months. lie stated it will probably not yeild definite results. "I m sure we won't get a flat answer. We'll get a few indications. though," he said. Sterling Evans to start signing up voters Monday. Known as "registration assistants," they will man voting booths at shopping centers or other places and also may go registering voters. Evans said. The roving registrars are sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the two major political parties, labor unions and other groups, the clerk explained. Tuesday will be the first neighborhood registration day before the Sept. 14 prim election. Citizens may register in their voting districts between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Two other methods of registration are available. Clerks in the various counties are accepting registrations during regular office hours, and registration by mail is available. Forms may be picked up at banks, libraries, city offices and post offices. People may register with county clerks or with roving registrars only up until 10 days before the election. Mailed registrations must be received by county clerks at least 10 days before the election. Monday, Aug. 30 the day when voters who will be absent from their county on election day may start casting absentee ballots. This may be done at county clerk's offices until Monday evening, Sept. 13, the day before election. After Tuesday, two more neighborhood registration days will remain before the primary election. They are Saturday, Aug. 14 and Tuesday, Aug. 24. There will be three neighborhood registration days in October, prior to the Nov. 2 final election. Persons with questions about registration, including the location of their registration place, are invited to call the clerk's office at or 328-758- 0 plants were confiscated.
