The girls met at the Rennaker ranch early one Saturday morning and spent the entire day on the range looking for stray cattle. They rode on into the late .' They're not actually right at home on the range but the Mia Maids and Laurels of the Darby Branch, Missoula Montana Stake, became cowgirls long enough to complete a cattle roundup for a widow. A neighbor of Brother and Sister Dwain Rennaker in the Bitterroot Valley died unexpectedly, leaving a widow to run the ranch. Cleanup and Dedication Improve Home's Spirit LAS CRUCES, N.M. The cleanup wave that is sweeping through the homes of Church members hit the Reed Larsen home in Las Cruces, N.M. However, the project gave the family something more than just a nicer looking home. They enjoy a different spirit in the home now. "We wanted to go one step beyond President Spencer W. Kimball's pleas to fix up our home and yard," said Brother Larsen. "We wanted to have , 10 our home dedicated." Aug. 17, 1975, Brother and Sister Larsen's 25th wedding anniversary, was set for the dedication CHURCH WEEK ENDING NOVEMBER 15, 1975 date. The family worked during the summer. They pulled weeds, repaired the fence and painted the eaves and trim on the house. They got rid of trash that had accumulated on the patio, replaced the worn carpet in the living room. The old carpet was acceptable for use in the master bedroom. "Everyone pitched in to do what they were able to do," Sister Larsen said. "The young ones weeded, washed and scrubbed. The older ones scrubbed walls and painted." Brother Larsen built screens and did the carpentry. The family enlisted the aid of anyone ,i else who was willing to help and found many willing bands among friends and relatives. The Larsens paid off their home's mortgage in July. On the appointed date the house and yard were spotless as relatives and friends joined them to celebrate Brother and Sister Larsen's anniversary and be present for the home's dedication. "There is a different spirit in our home. There is more peace and comfort, more trying to please, and more love aad concern. There is more trying to serve the Lord in every way," said Sister Larsen. , |
