Sister 'Gotberg, who is crippled by multiple sclerosis, had been wanting to see the Church Office Building -especially the Genealogical Society for a long time, said her Library husband, Bolan I Gotberg On Tuesday, July 8, Brother Gotberg put his wife in her small hospital bed in their station wagon and drove her to the office building from their home in Sandy, Utah. Brother and Sister Gotberg, accompanied by two of their three chidldren, Rose-Mar12, and Carl, 9, ate lunch in the building cafeteria, viewed the city from thé 26th floor and examined the microfilm records and new research techniques in the genealogical library. '"I used to do genealogy the hard way," said Sister Gotberg. The Gotberg family are active hers of the Undo n lOth Ward, Midvale Utah Fort Union Stake. With her family's help, Sister Gotberg attends Church regularly in her bed, Before the pageant's final judging, Kimberly Ann Jensen confided to her mother that she hoped she would "be a really good missionary and use every opportunity to talk about the gospel" if she won the c Of nest. -- ':,. "Chad" Scott, high priests group instructor in the Sunset Hills Ward, Beaverton Oregon Stake, was elected president of Toastmasters International in Santa Ana, Calif. Aug. 21. The election occurred during the 44th annual convention of the nonprofit educational organization dedicated to better listening, thinking and speaking. Pieper, a member of the foreign languages department faculty at Ricks College, has been sustained as second counselor in the presidency of the Rexburg Language Training Mission. David B. Hillier, former second counselor, was sustained as first counselor, replacing Lorentz Pearson, who is now on leave from Ricks doing research in Sweden. President of the Rexburg LTM is Ermel J. Gift Award at his recent graduatiol from the Washington University School of Medicine. The award is given for outstanding original contributions in clinical and therapeutic medicine. COLUMBUS, OHIO Frances Juanita Gerard', a member of the Columbus 2nd Ward, was recently elected treasurer of the Bhie Star Mother of America, Inc. Sister Pearson, a native of Moore, Idaho, was presented the citation and geld medal by Dr. Elias Hayek, director general of the Lebanon Ministry of Public Health. As a nurse, Sister Pearson serves as vice chairman of the Christian Medical Association of the Middle East and is a board member of the Lebanese Operating Room Nurses Association. She works six to seven days a week as a supervisor at the American University Hospital. She has worked in Lebanon for the past 25 years. Sister Pearson has served as a Sunday School teacher and Relief Society president in the Ras Beirut Branch, which is a part of the International ission.
