Whats happened years high school to this gradu- ates? asks S. Bertell Bunker, associate commissioner of higher education for finance. In the spring of tins jeu', Utah high schools graduated 18,555 students, an increase of 1 021, or nearly six per cent, over the 1969 crop of 17,644. Bunker said Brigham Young Universitys announced policy of limiting enrollment - Iso was expected to resuit in increased enrolment at state schools. More detailed analysis of enrollment reports nc w in process at the USBHE office may shed additional light on the mystery, Bunker says. He speculates that increased difficulty in obtaining student loans may be a factor in the resident enrollment. Some student., also may be staying out of school to work. In either event, a voir of potential college stu- dents may be accumulating, Bunker says. This could result in an inflax of new students, either for winter quarter .classes oi for next school term. . The compli- development cates planning for next years college operations, he said.
