There was little celebration or champagne Monday when the Orioles clinched their second straight pennant and their third in the last five years by clobbering the jittery Minnesota Twins, Instead of looking back on their second straight three-gam- e sweep of the Minnesota Twins in the American League playoffs, the Orioles were looking ahead to the start of the World Series Saturday against the National League champion Cincinnati Reds. While some pop bottles popped, some of the Orioles were thinking more of last years World Series loss to the New York Mets than of the victory over the Twins behind Kentucky is the land of basketball and horse racing. Coach John Ray would like to add football again. Anyone in Kentucky knows that Ray has an uphill battle. Because football at University of g Kentucky is against basketballs national baron, Adolph Rupp. Ray is making a determined bid, though. And he hopes Utah State helps that bid by becoming 'Kentuckys second 1970 victim, Saturday night at Lexington. It is a night game, incidentally, because football is fighting an afternoon of horse racing. That is sort of like Beehive State football fighting the deer hunt opener. The only Kentucky grid victim thus far ha3 been Kansas State, a team which beat the Utah Aggies 37-- 0 at Manhattan. Sports-wis- e, .
